NEWPORT JUNIOR RUGBY OPENS NEW GIRLS’ CHANGE ROOMS!!
It was with great excitement for our club and community that we opened our girl’s change room in 2023!
The project was started over 5 years ago by the Newport Junior Rugby Committee who had a vision for making rugby a more inclusive and family orientated game. Newport was one of the first clubs to initiate girls’ rugby teams, and with the growth of the girls’ rugby we saw the need to have a purpose-built facility as the girls grew older, and for their coaches, visitors, supporters and referees.
It was a great honour to have the NSW Minister for Women, Jodie Harrison, and the Australian Women’s Rugby Sevens team at our club to officially open the change rooms on the 28th of April 2023.
